Overdue

Big time!

The title of this blog post sums it all. 😬 I am finally making time to update my blog after 2 years bruh! (bad bad Aqeera)

I just thought to do my life updates here... to be precise on my career. If you read my blog you'd know my career progressions. I was in the communications department for 4 years (btw, I am still working at the same "company") 👌 hehe.

I really didn't realize I was doing events for 4 years??!! really crazy to think about it. I joined the team with zero knowledged but really interesting to learn from them. I must say doing events is a non-stop learning curve like every event I'd deal with different people different directions & objectives.

The bittersweets memories I'd forever cherished, I'd still can't sleep the night before the events. My adrenaline pumped the most at the event site. All the sweats (no blood, thank god) & tears yup, I cried..it was all part of my learning experienced.

Bottom line, nothing comes easy, honey! Also, I am very much blessed to be having around people who'd pushed me. To think of it, I have people who would notice my potential that helped creating or opening me to the opportunity to help me grow in my career. I am forever grateful to this kind of person.

Only my closest friends would know what was my dream job. Maybe I did speak about it to a few other people. I remembered when I went for a blind date the guy asked me "what's your career plan?" well I answered with what was my dream job he literally laughs. 🙆

Moving on, I got to know an opportunity vacancy for my dream job just within the company. I wasn't 100% sure whether I should go ahead apply for it. I did ask for a few people's opinions (not too encouraging).

Time goes by, a few months and the job is still vacant. God plans I was assigned for an event in Langkawi, I personally asked the "hiring" person rising on my interest to apply for the position during the working team dinner.

Story cut short, I applied for the job, got called for the interview, went for an interview. Let me rephrase in the process of me applying it, I updated my resume that wasn't being updated for 7 years lol & of course I was nervous to go for the interview. Hasn't been to a job interview for years!

Alhamdulillah after all the process I am now 7 months working in a new role ( I got my dream job, guys!). With all these, I do want to share never stop chasing your dream, even it may be small or big. Do not live up to people's expectations, try to learn and get to know yourself along the way. Always...always push to be better self doesn't matter even with small steps it still counts.

Look for a role model, inspiration life is too short to live in stagnant. Most importantly be humble & sincere in whatever you're pursuing or doing.

Signing off.
xoxo
